What Is Fasting? What Are Your Thoughts?

Posted by: Bishop Shammah Womack-El in Fasting Revival on Print PDF

Fasting, if we conceive of it truly, must not... be confined to the question of food and drink; fasting should really be made to include abstinence from anything which is legitimate in and of itself for the sake of some special spiritual purpose. There are many bodily functions which are right and normal and perfectly legitimate, but which for special peculiar reasons in certain circumstances should be controlled. That is fasting.

Fasting
written by Darlene Thomas-El, January 31, 2010
In my time of reflection, confronting to correct my Faith Walk and my responsibilities at the Temple, surely things in my life are also springing up for me to correct as well. That's all good. Why? I desire to live a holistic life, every aspect of my life being governed by Spiritual Protocol, principles. There is a destiny God has for me and it is not of my own will/way. It is the way he has prepared for me before I was even birthed on the scene of earth. And not just for me but every one who has breath in their body. No matter where you are, what you are going through or what has happen to (it could be the worse of the worse-so you may think), but God loves us all and desires the best for us. So your past cannot be compared to your future. Forgive, forget and go forward to discover a new life God has for you in Christ Jesus. It's AWESOME AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW MUCH MONEY YOU HAVE, HOW MANY CARS YOU HAVE, YOUR RELATIONSHIPS WITH YOUR LOVED ONES, BUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM is important (GETTING TO KNOW HIM). If we focus on getting to know God and walk in His way, all the things we desire shall be given through the illumination and instructions He will give to us as long as we take action.
Fasting Revival
written by Darlene Thomas-El, January 24, 2010
Fasting for me now means a time of reflection. I can clearly see the things or people I'm attached to and the foods I'm addicted to. This is what's hindering my progress in living the abundant life God has for me. It's just time for me to keep it Real, for real. In the beginning, I was just doing the Fasting Revival out of obedience, then it became personal gain of health, vitality and fitness, but NOW I desire to know God even more...for to really have a personal relationship with God is getting to know me, the true essence of my being, and my purpose here on this earth.

I will be leaving by private jet in a few hours with a crew to drop off supplies to Haiti. Please keep me in Christ Consciousness. Peace

Each hunger pain, each desire for food and water serves as another stitch linking together our realization of the limitation of the body, but the unlimited nature of who we truly are. In my experiences after a few days fasting, I start to really see not intellectually but feel that the body is just a vehicle and that there are added dimension to ourselves that cannot be feed or appeased by food and drink.

Fasting provides you to see things more clearly and an enlightenment that I have yet to be able to clearly describe. I am more energetic, attentive and my mood is especially cheerful. I am looking forward to Bishop intensifying the requirements during this Fasting Revival. It will give me an opportunity to my faith in what is truely my God.

Add 30 drops of trace minerals to your water for an extra punch of energy during your fast. Use it three times a day. Recharge your cells.

I just completed the Prophetic Physician's Military Workout. WOW! I have never done an exercise program that intense in less than half an hour. I'm going to work on the "frog" and some of the other stomach exercises. That is an area that I definetly want to strengthen. I'm not at the point where I will say it was FUN or EASY, yet I do feel better and stronger. I enjoyed working out with everyone present. I desire to be healthy in every area so thank you for showing me how far I have to go. Anyone who can do several workouts in the same day, best us all in the workout, then do push ups on two chairs and call this a warm up is a Master Trainer. Bishop, I think trainers at the average health club would be exhausted by your routines. I'm going to go drink some water and PRAY...until we meet again.

To be successful in your fast, you need to move through the stages of detoxification to the more intense fasting by listening to your body and maintaining notes in a diary. Depending on your progress, you can move on to one-day fasts weekly or a three-day fast every month. The key is plenty of water.

Replacing bread with the Bread of Life is energizing me for greater progress in the development and unveiling of a new me. Once commitment has been established and your mind is set, the rest is simply part of the process. How we partake of the Bread of life, the one essential food, impacts how we partake of natural food and life.

smilies/kiss.gifFasting shows me myself - the truth of me, positive or negative. And as I begin to behold that [woman] in the mirror, I'm reminded (sometimes painfully so) just hom much I must stay connected with Heavenly Father, Divine Mother, Elder Brother...and you Bishop, the Prophetic Dr. Thank you for putting the spiritual microscope in my hand, so I may examine myself, and thank you for reminding me, through Christ-consciousness, that I have the solution for my own pollution.
Fasting
written by Dorothy Lane, January 08, 2010
smilies/cool.gifFasting is a spiritual discipline, it is the act of submitting one's own will to the infinite. I consider it to be internal house cleaning. Fasting is the realization of ones need for spiritual, wisdom, guidance, and liberation from the self-will. Fasting is the GATEWAY toward spiritual freedom, internal, and external growth.I am looking forward to new life, new light, harmony, balance naturally and spiritually. Dorothy Lane

smilies/wink.gifFasting can be a painful admission that I am not free, that my life is enslaved, obsessed or addicted to external things such as food, drink, codependent relationships, sex, television, privacy and the like. How do you see it? The Prophetic Physician
