There are a number of Biblical references to different types of fasting here are just a few that I will list:
• Without food, but water is allowed: Matthew 4:1-2, Luke 4:2
• No food and no water for three days: Esther 4:16, Ezra 10:6, and
Acts 9:9
• Some food items are eliminated for the period of the fast:
Daniel 1:15,10:2-3
Illustrations
• Exodus 24:18, 34:28; Deut 9:9 & 18; 10:10 – Moses twice spends
forty days on Mount Sinai without eating or drinking, and in
mourning over Israel’s sin.
• 2 Chr 20:3 – Jehoshaphat proclaims a fast throughout Judah to
seek YHWH for fear of the armies of Ammon and Moab.
• Ezra 8:21-23 – Ezra calls a fast to seek God’s protection for
those leaving Babylon for Israel.
• Joel 2:12-15 – YAHWEH calls the people to return to Him with
fasting, rending their hearts, not garments; Joel calls for a fast.
• Matt 4:2; Luke 4:2 – Jesus fasts forty days in the wilderness,
being tempted by the devil.
• Matt 17:21; Mark 9:29 – Jesus says that this kind of demon
goes out only by means of prayer and fasting.
• Acts 14:23 – Paul and Barnabas appoint elders in the churches,
having prayed with fasting.
• 2 Cor 6:5; 2 Cor 11:27 – Paul lists “fastings” as among the
hardships he suffered as a mark of his apostleship

Bishop, thank you for teaching us, through Scripture, participation and your personal demonstration, just how essential fasting is: that it is something (along with prayer) that should become a lifestyle for the saint who wants to continually progress in his/her spiritual walk. Of course, for the next several months, I may no longer abstain from food or water as I am now in a special group "P"
, but I am certailny abstaining from certain foods that I have given up thanks to you and this fabulous fast. I also practice abstaining from certain pleasures, like T.V., etc, at cetain times during the week. Thanks again so much...for me, this fast was right on time!

Dr. Womack-El
The living food recipies are great, enjoying the nut patee and the breakfast cerial with coconut. With some Limitations Iam seeing great results, Can go to the Supermaket and not go to the snack area, You have helped me to see what I was attached to and can now let it go.The "10% OF CHANGE" was that a profound teaching? It has changed much for me,I am so greatful to God allowing me this "DOOR OF ACCESS". Thank you and God bless you and your ministry.

Thanks Again Bishop! I have a better understanding of fasting now than I ever have! I have actually gotten to the place again where I wish there was a way I could do without food and still live healthy! People are stopping me now and asking what am I doing? I was never overweight, but, the countenance on my face has changed to a more radiant state than ever before. Thank You!

I second what Lenora & Stanya have said. It is become especially clear to me the longer I'm participating in the Fasting Revival how important fasting is in the life of a born again believe. I'm thankful that the god of the belly is dying, giving life to my sacred self.

Thank you for the scriptures to help us to understand, through God's word, why you instituted a fasting revival to bring us from average to excellent!

Bishop, I was taught that apostles deal with foundation, government, structure. I find it extremely intereting that Paul says the mark of his apostleship - the mark of his calling to establish, build a divine foundation, goverment and structure included fasting! I take that as a sign for building my personal divine foundation, structure in life - fasting is essential!
Thank you so much Bishop for just shedding new light, a new insight on fasting. I knew fasting was important, crucial but you have taken me to another level in my contemplation of fasting, my consciousness regarding fasting and the importance of preparing the physical body so I will have the ability to go on a fast of any kind with a spirit of joy. Thank you for your spiritual, psychological, holistic and practical approach to everything you have taught us in word and demonstration, thus far.
One more thing, you are unpredictable! I didn't expect any new blogs with your traveling and teaching, etc., etc. I just "happened" to check and I see two new blogs. You are teaching me to take advantage of every moment. Don't let time go to waste. Thank you.
