As the verse says... "Love your neighbor as you love yourself." This always pulls my feet down and reminds me of the simplest rules in life. The simplest phrase seems so difficult to achieve. As strange as it seems, Love makes our world go round—the right way.
In these times where all the negativities, problems and issues are almost found in every corner, the solution to make things right is within ourselves. Loving yourself will make you feel better. That positive vibes will reach out to others… spreading the optimistic view in life. It is a chain reaction. Don't you just love a peaceful and worry free environment? Free of negativity and free of arguments? The root of things is our own self, our body and our spirit. When you learn to love yourself, it's like an automatic trigger that enables you to treat others like you treat yourself. Others will be ashamed to bash on you and/or do harm. If you love yourself whole-heartedly, others will notice. This will make them realize that they need to love themselves too.
There are lots of reasons why it is important to love yourself. Love nourishes your body and spirit. A nourished body, mind and spirit provoke good communication to other people, enables you to think and reason effectively. You want to love yourself to give yourself new life. When you love yourself, you are open to a more fresh and healthy living, inside and out.
I am sure that all of us would at least want to extend their hand and help. But helping won't be possible if you don't know how to help yourself. You also can't love a family member, a boyfriend or girlfriend, a friend, a group or a community if you don't care and love yourself. You want to start within. And then reach out to those who need attention and care.
The number one reason why it is important to love yourself is you. Above all things, it is you who needs to benefit the good effects of love. If you love yourself, you will take care of your body as if it is a house. You will feel good about yourself and it would be easier for you to feel good about other people too.
So next time you say "I love you", ask yourself do you love YOU? |
